COULD BRIGG PEOPLER DO MORE RECYCLING?

Brigg's Old Courts Road Reycling Centre
National Recycling Week starts tomorrow and North Lincolnshire Council is taking part.
The theme  this year is ‘recycle around your home’. It aims to raise  public awareness  of items you might not have previously thought to recycle.
In addition to the baskets and boxes given to Brigg households, we have recycling centre in Old Courts Road, Tesco's car park and at Ancholme Leisure Centre.
If you aren’t sure what can and can’t be recycled, visit www.northlincs.gov.uk/bins-waste-recycling/
Many of the items that are disposed of are still in good condition and could be re-used or perhaps donated to  Brigg charity shops.
You can also sell items at auction sites, car boot sales or use free cycle sites like www.freecycle.org.uk and www.freebay.uk.com
Coun Neil Poole, from Messingham, North Lincolnshire Council's Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “We want to encourage people to think about how and what they recycle, then ask themselves if there is more they can be recycling. It’s important that we all recycle as much as we can and prevent items going to landfill unnecessarily. You can check the council’s website to find out what items we accept at household recycling centres as well as what you can recycle in your bins and boxes at home."
