£25K FOR BRIGG CHURCH HALL

St John's Church Hall, Bigby Street, Brigg
When a Brigg Town Council committee recently considered whether to make a grant  to help Church Hall improvements in Bigby Street, Coun Carl Sherwood suggested North Lincolnshire Council would be giving some assistance.
He didn't go into detail at that point, but since then the authority, of which he is a cabinet member, has announced a sizeable grant to the St John's Church facility - £25,000 to help with renovation work.
The Parish Hall was built in the early 1950s and is in urgent need of a refurb.
The heating system is outdated and not working properly and there is no wall insulation to keep the heat in.
The flooring is also badly damaged and the decor is described as being very old fashioned.
The refurbishment will see the Parish Hall brought up-to-date and a new heating system installed.
It appears they are planning to use the latest eco-friendly technology.
The Church Hall is by no means an historic or even attractive building from the outside. But it is well-used for various events, not all church-related by any means.
More cash may be on the way to this worthy cause, with Brigg Town Council still to consider whether it is going to be sending a cheque.
If your group could do with a boost, North Lincolnshire Council has a Community Grant Fund.
Coun Carl says: “If you think you could benefit from the Community Grant Fund, apply today. All the details can be found on the council website at www.northlincs.gov.uk/grant-funding ”
