BEST GARDENS AND ALLOTMENTS IN BRIGG ANNOUNCED

Brigg's annual best-kept garden and prize allotment awards were presented during Town Mayor Coun Edward Arnott's coffee morning in the Angel Suite on Saturday morning.
The Town Mayor welcomed and thanked everyone in attendance for their support.
He also extended thanks to:
  • Brigg Garden Centre for their joint sponsorship with the Town Council of the Best Kept Garden and Prize Allotment Award
  • Alix Brown, of Brigg Garden Centre, for undertaking the final judging.
  • Vic Bowness for undertaking the judging of the Prize Allotment Award.
  • Freeman of Brigg, Tom Glossop, for taking photographs of the finalists' gardens, which were on display at the coffee morning.
  • Members of Brigg Town Council for undertaking the judging the first round of the garden competition. Every area of the town was walked by a team of councillors, who draw up a list for final judging.


BEST KEPT GARDEN COMPETITION FINALISTS 2014
1st PLACE - Mrs. S. Jones, 119 Grammar School Road, presented with the Louis T. Jarratt Memorial Rose Bowl, certificate and voucher for £50 for Brigg Garden Centre
2nd PLACE -  Tom Booth, 39 Grammar School Road, certificate and voucher for £30 for Brigg Garden Centre
3rd PLACE  - Mr. &  Mrs. D. Eardley, 30 Almond Grove, certificate and  voucher for £20 for Brigg Garden Centre

CERTIFICATES OF MERIT - Mr.  L. & Mrs. H. Dent, 12 Elm Way; Mrs. B. Carnaby, 34 Atkinson Avenue -  vouchers for £10 for Brigg Garden Centre.
