BRIGG SIGNS ENSURE A TALL TRUCK DOES NOT GET STUCK

These pictures show the lengths to which a highway authority has to go in order to ensure no big lorries clip the bridge carrying the railway line over Cadney Road.
There’s a height warning sign in Bigby Street, as you approach the zebra crossing, others on Cadney Road – just before the avenue of trees – and then one pinned to the metalwork on the side of the bridge.
The latter is old, dirty and partly hidden by foliage at this time of year (SEE PICTURE ABOVE). So it’s to be hoped that this third line of defence is unnecessary, and that drivers spot the first two.
There can’t be many tall trucks heading down this C-road towards Cadney. But if local highway authorities like ours  need to point out low bridges ahead, even if only a solitary lorry uses the road.

I assume that there are similar notices on the road FROM Cadney....
