GLANFORD BOAT CLUB REGATTA IN BRIGG - PICTURES BY KEN HARRISON

Scunthorpe Sea Cadets assisted Glanford Boat Club. Here we have some 15 and 16 year old cadets posing for the camera (ABOVE) and crewing the SCC Rescue boat. Glanford Boat Club, whose clubhouse and moorings are in the Island Carr area of Brigg - off Bridge Street - held its 2014 regatta on Saturday. Ken Harrison, of Wrawby, went along with his camera and has kindly furnished Brigg Blog with this array of pictures.
The Scunthorpe Sea Cadet Corps supported this event on the River Ancholme. The Corps HQ is based in Wragby Road, Scunthorpe - parade nights being Tuesdays and Thursdays - 6.30pm to 9pm. Re the bottom picture - the haze around the cox, or helmsman(girl)is not the result of exhaust fumes from the outboard - but, unfortunately, a smeared raindrop on the lens - it had been raining very hard.
