SLIPPED THROUGH THE NET?

There's been a pothole in the A18 on the Monument roundabout for many months. It's almost level with kitchen shop. No problem, really, for vehicles negotiating the roundabout as the hole is on the very edge of the road surface, but it can become an issue for unwary motorists coming from Bigby Road and heading off down Bigby Street.
We've no wish to curtail bread-and-butter revenue for local garages (replacement springs and tyres?), but it's high time this pothole was filled in. Especially with autumn and winter weather to come.

I'm sure Cllr Nigel Sherwood will have got your message and will look into the hole straight away!

It's not just suspensions that are vulnerable, but bumps in the road can affect a wide variety of components on a car....one of the common ones is that the toe-in on the steering goes adrift and the tyres start to wear down unevenly.

Apart from the tyre tread wearing down on one-side, another clue, I learnt after my car's toe-in was found to be defective, is if your car wheels squeal going around a sharp bend, or roundabout is that it could well be that the car's steering is out of alignment.
It's well worth having it checked out - it can save a fortune on front tyres and, indeed, steering the car can become surprisingly more comfortable.
