BUSY MARKET

Brigg Blog carried an extensive preview of July's farmers' market earlier in the week, including mention of new canopies for the stalls, so obviously we had to go along, camera in hand, and capture some of the scenes today. Alongside the farmers' market was the traditional Saturday market.

I thought Brigg was very busy this morning.
Saw Ben Nobbs and Barbara M in the Market Place. Ben was dressed in his best togs - methinks, meeting royalty the other day has made him go all posh.
Most folks were doing a roaring trade - even the lady I met in The Loft had won £20 on a lottery instant....she was chuffed.
It was nice to hear the guy on the accordian...he was playing the theme tune from 'Last of the Summer Wine' when I passed him for the last time.
It's was a pity that many people were giving the LIVES street collectors a wide detour.
Observed that the market only extended to Grandad's Shed.....suggest that other activities, such as pavement painting, bell-ringing and morris dancing could be incorporated into the Farmers' Market.
Why wasn't there a NLC stall giving out tourist information about places of interest near Brigg? Seemed to a lost opportunity.

ps The caption, 'Busy Market' translates into, 'Streaky Bum'.
