ALL ABOARD! 11 PICTURES OF UNIQUE VISITOR TO THE BRIGG RAILWAY LINE

Since posting about a heritage diesel engine and an inspection saloon carriage travelling through Brigg as railway enthusiasts looked on, more pictures of this unusual special train have been forwarded to us to supplement those we took last Thursday afternoon (September 1).
Network Rail's train followed a lengthy route from York to Immingham before returning to the historic city.
Images seen here show the Class 37 loco and inspection coach (named Caroline) in the Brigg area and elsewhere, including York.
We reckon it was the first time a diesel loco-hauled inspection carriage had been along our currently little-used local route.
