HOW BRIGG HOUSEHOLDS CAN SAVE MONEY

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

Since North Lincolnshire Council’s collective energy switching scheme started in August 2013 it has saved residents who are signed up to the scheme over £57,000 on their energy bills.
The scheme is reopening on 4 August to give even more people across North Lincolnshire and just outside of the area the opportunity to reap the benefits of fantastic savings.
Are you fed up of paying huge energy bills? Sign up to the collective switching scheme and change your energy supplier; it could save you hundreds of pounds a year.
The savings made so far works out on average at £238 a year for each household. 97 per cent of the households that have registered already for the scheme benefited from savings.
Collective switching offers households the opportunity to sign up to a scheme that allows an intermediary to enter an auction with energy companies on their behalf, to secure a discounted energy price.
The scheme is run in partnership with iChoosr Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of collective switching.
It is free to register on the scheme; registration opens on 4 August and the auction will take place in October – just in time for the cold winter months to keep fuel bills as low as possible.
If you would like to reap these benefits, register online by visiting www.northlincs.gov.uk/collective-switching
To take advantage of this great scheme you need to register before it closes on Monday 12 October 2015.

Coun John Briggs (Crowle), Cabinet Member for Assets, Culture and Housing, said: “Tremendous savings have been made from the collective switching scheme already, so I would encourage even more people to get on board and register. You can make real savings on your energy bills that will make a huge difference. Even if you think you can’t get your energy bills any lower, you may as well try – it doesn’t cost you a penny.
“We take all the hassle and confusion out of comparing energy tariffs and prices by doing all the hard work for you. Collective switching saves time by bidding on your behalf. Many residents have highlighted the great savings they have made and how simple the switching process is.
“It really is a great scheme that you don’t want to miss out on. Sign-up today and you could be saving money on your bills.”
The timetable for the collective switching process is:

  • Auction – 13 October 2015
  • Offers sent out – week commencing 23 October 2015
  • Scheme closes –   23 November 2015 (last date for accepting the offer given)
