TIME TO REMEMBER SCANLON'S TREE IN BRIGG

The tree in the beer garden of the Nelthorpe Arms in Brigg - picture on Nigel Fisher's Brigg Blog

Sadly the Nelthorpe Arms pub in Brigg is boarded up at present and we await news of its reopening, having recently changed hands. The bridge street hostelry being out of action means we can no longer enjoy taking a pint out into the beer garden on a spring afternoon or evening. The tree (centre of picture) reminded us of long-serving mine hosts Myles and Mary Scanlon. We took this picture yesterday from the side of the County Bridge as  work continues on outbuildings behind the pub.
