WHO IN BRIGG WILL GAIN THE TOWN'S PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS FOR 2014?

The most prestigious awards in Brigg are presented annually to the person who has done most to help the community and to what's judged the best building development or re-development.
Nominations in both categories will be considered on Wednesday 15th January  during a meeting of the Brigg Town Council Policy Committee in the Angel Suite.
Although members of the Press and public are welcome at this session, we will be excluded while councillors consider the nominations, as clearly no-one wants to spoil the surprise for the winners.
The Joseph J. Magrath O.B.E. Award for Public Voluntary Service goes to a hard-working individual, while best building will receive the Brigg Town Council Civic Award.
The winners will be invited to a presentation ceremony, the awards usually being presented during the Annaul Civic Dinner.
Mr Magrath was the long-serving Town Clerk of Brigg - working for the old Urban District Council and then the Town Council.
