HIGH FIVES AT MARKET RASEN RACECOURSE AS JULY STARTS WITH FAMILY SUNDAY

MARKET Rasen Racecourse gets a red hot summer of horse racing and family entertainment during July and August under way with its annual Don Noble Bookmakers family fun day on Sunday (7 JULY).
Between now and the final day of August there are no fewer than five fantastic racing days for visitors to the racecourse to enjoy.
This Sunday includes appearances during the afternoon by Ben 10 with Shocksquatch, as well as a mini zoo for young and old alike to enjoy.  With accompanied under 18s being given free admission, it makes for a most affordable summer afternoon out for families.
Before the thoroughbred racing begins at 2.15pm, there are two pony races for youngsters from 1.20pm.  Organised by the Pony Racing Authority, the races over seven furlongs and one mile are designed to encourage the jockeys of the future.
The highlight of the racing season in Lincolnshire is Ladies’ Day on Saturday 20 July when the races are worth well over £100,000 in prize-money.  The Betfred Summer Plate and Summer Hurdle always attract some of the best summer jumping horses in Britain.
Ladies’ Day includes fashion shows and best dressed prizes, and that is followed by the annual Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund family fun day on Sunday 4 August.
The fun isn’t over by any means though because the final two fixtures in August make up ‘Rasen Rocks 2013’.
They star Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills on Saturday evening 17 August and, exactly a fortnight later, just about the biggest music event ever staged by the racecourse, McFly and The Vamps in concert.

“It all starts this Sunday with our traditional Don Noble Bookmakers family fun day and goes all the way until the conclusion of ‘Rasen Rocks 2013’ with McFly and The Vamps.”



Racing on Sunday 7 July starts at 2.15pm, with gates opening two hours before.  The finale is at 5.15pm.
