THINGS LOOKING UP FOR BRIGG TOWN CRICKET CLUB

Cheery news on the cricketing front in Brigg.
With some of us who played for Brigg Town Cricket Club in the past wondering whether it would keep going with just one team in 2012, the lads have made a great start to the East Yorkshire Alliance division three season.
So much so that chairman Gary Smith has sent out a "well done" message, thanking those whose hard work has made it possible.
"Three games in and Brigg Town are putting out full sides and winning games," says Gary.
Three new players from Barnetby have made a big difference, soon slotting into the side and putting in some good performances.
One of them, Majid Khan, scored what the chairman describes as "a stunning century last weekend."
Majid made 116, batting at number seven, in the crushing win over Cottingham at Brigg Recreation Ground.
Fellow newcomers Siva and Sirav made 69 and 39 not out respectively in a huge total of 259 for seven in 40 overs. Cottingham replied with an all-out 52 (30 overs) with all-rounder Siva taking four for 12 and Phil Dewfall two for seven.
