The winner of the main community award in Brigg will be decided next Wednesday.
Brigg town councillors will consider the nominations received for the 2011 Joseph J. Magrath O.B.E. Award for Public Voluntary Service, in memory of the former long-serving Town Clerk.
But, to keep it a surprise for the winner, the decision will be reached while the press and public are excluded.
The identity of the winner will be announced, in due course, through the Town Council, with the winner receiving his/her trophy at the annual civic banquet.
Recommendations for the 2011 Brigg Town Council Civic Award - for building developments/improvements - will also be decided on Wednesday.
All other discussions at the meeting will be undertaken in open session.
If you are interested in going along to observe, the Brigg Town Council policy committee will meet on Wednesday, January 11 at 7pm in the Angel Suite Lounge (downstairs or use the lift).
Entry to the building at this time of day is through the Rotunda, near the Angel car park and adjoining Exchange Place (see photograph).
Other items on the agenda include:
- Consider the request for a financial contribution toward the cost of insurance from Brigg Wheelers.
- Review the grant application from the Brigg and District Senior Citizen’s Pop-In Centre, Cary Lane.
- Consider the request for financial assistance from Northern Lincolnshire CPRE.
