YOU NEVER KNOW...

Just in case anyone questioned our recent posting (with picture) showing a pile of old bricks on Bridge Street (remains of a demolished wall by the roadside) we'd just like to point out it has now risen to the fifth most read story on Brigg Blog. And it could go higher. No, not the wall...the story!
North Lincolnshire Council is expected to remove the pile in the near future.
What makes a story in which people are really interested is different online to what it is in newspapers - the traditional media.
Even those of us who've been in local journalism for well over 35 years still live and learn.
Coun Tom Glossop (right) made a very good point during Monday's Brigg Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite. Councillors were considering a report which suggested that all of them should undertake refresher training, regardless of how much service they've go in. Coun Carl Sherwood suggested that surely need not apply to the likes of Coun Glossop. But the long-serving Tom said he totally disagreed and always undertook training in the belief there was something new to be gained.
Currently in fourth spot on our most popular stories list is 'Sass in the Saddle' - Coun Andrew Markham taking delivery of his bike for a charity cycle ride. As that picture was taken a stone's throw from the demolished wall, it is clear we must have a dedicated following in and around Bridge Street.
