Ex-Brigg sportsmen and women have continued to ask us when this will be happening. Four folk did so on Saturday alone.
Well, the waiting is now over...
It will take place on Friday, February 17 at 9.45am.
The date has been revealed to Brigg Blog by a spokeswoman for North Lincolnshire Council, which is the driving force behind the refurb.
On social media, Brigg Blog recently saw a picture of the new community room, posted by contractor Kelsey. Very impressive indeed! And so are the changing rooms and the all-weather facilities that have been added on the site off Wrawby Road.
Brigg has waited decades to get a Recreation Ground in which everyone can take great pride. And now we don't have much longer to wait. It has come too late for many of us to enjoy, of course, but is a superb development for those still active sportsmen and sportwomen. Plus today's youngsters, of course.
