BRIGG TOWN LOSE LEADERSHIP

Brigg Town Cricket Club yesterday lost top spot in division four of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League (sponsored by  Readers).
Brigg suffered a four-wicket defeat when visiting Barton Town 2nds, having failed to make sufficent runs on the Marsh Lane ground.
A total of 141 all-out owed much to the efforts of last pair Tom Brock (35 not out) and Phil Dewfall (10).
Earlier, Andrew Dixon had made 28, Matthew York 24 and Simon Dixon 15.
Barton reached their target for the loss of six wickets, Phil Dewfall having Brigg's best figures of four for 39.
This was only Brigg's second defeat of the season in division four.
They are now seven points behind leaders Lindum 3rds, both teams having three fixtures remaining.
This coming Saturday, August 27, Brigg host third-in-the-table Marshalls at Brocklesby Park (1pm start).
