BRIGG COUNCIL LAYS FOUNDATIONS FOR POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT ON NELTHORPE GOVERNING BODY

Sir John Nelthorpe Upper School in Brigg. The school was built in the early 1670s and is a listed building. The Scawby landowner, after whom the premises are named, left land in his will for the foundation and upkeep of a school in the town.
Brigg Town Councillor James Truepenny's spell as a foundation governor at Sir John Nelthorpe School comes to an end in January.
A former Town Mayor, Coun Truepenny has told his colleagues on the Town Council that he does not think he will be able to continue for a further period, due to his work commitments clashing with the times of meetings held by the foundation governors.
A decision is expected at this month's meeting of Brigg Town Council.
