TOP GARDEN AND BEST ALLOTMENT IN BRIGG REVEALED TODAY

A very enjoyable get-together at the Angel Suite in Brigg this morning (Sat Sept 22) saw the best-kept garden and allotment Civic Awards presented during the Town Mayor's Appeal Coffee Morning.
Coun Carl Sherwood, the town's first citizen, is raising money for the Brigg and District Breast Cancer Support Group and LIVES first responders during his year of office that will conclude in late spring 2013.
Karen Deeley, the Angel Suite manager, oversaw the refreshments, with the Town Clerk, Jeanette Woollard, and Assistant Town Clerk, Alison Hannath, handling the admin and organisation, alongside volunteer councillors.
Much has been written on Brigg Blog over the past couple of years about the Community-Led Plan which has been drawn up after consulting the public. It spells out how our community wants to see the town look in the future. And the final, finished document was presented to the Town Council during today's get-together by group chairman Coun The Rev Alec Depledge.
Brigg Garden Centre again gave generous sponsorship to the garden and allotment competitions, being represented at Saturday's ceremony by Alex Brown, who is manager of the centre's plant department.
