BRIGG WELCOMES OLYMPIC TORCH TODAY

By now, just about everyone in Brigg will be aware that the Olympic Torch is to be paraded through the town centre this afternoon. A great day for the town it will prove, with people of all ages turning out to watch it pass by. Pupils from local schools will be among those turning out to watch.
Last night, prior to the meeting of Brigg Town Council, we asked Town Mayor Coun Carl Sherwood (above) for his thoughts. He described it as a once-in-a-lifetime event. "And I strongly believe this creates a feel good factor amongst the community," he added.
You can find out the times and the places to be by viewing the extensive coverage on www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk and www.briggpeople.co.uk
The same sites will also be offering pictures and reports as the drama unfolds this afternoon. So keep logging on for updates.
