CONCERNS OVER HOMES PROPOSAL

Brigg Town Council is voicing concerns about plans to build new homes.
Outline planning permission to erect ten semi-detached dwellings is being sought on land off Engine Street by Q K Honeycomb Products Ltd.
North Lincolnshire Council planners will have the final say on whether to give the go-ahead, but Brigg Town Council’s Planning and Environment Committee decided an objection should be lodged.
Coun Jane Kitching made reference to concerns being voiced by the Environment Agency about flood risk and to expert opinion that this development site has the potential to contain important archaelogical wetland remains.
Coun Mel Oades said the addition of a further 10 homes could only add to existing concerns about the sewerage system’s ability to cope in the Bridge Street area.
Coun Jackie Brock added that additional traffic from the development would need to use Bridge Street.
The site is described as vacant offices and workshops – last used in about 2005.
Plans drawn up show five pairs of three-bedroomed semi-detached town houses arranged around a landscaped area and 12 parking bays.
The scheme is described as offering residential redevelopment for this part of town.
