MIXED FORTUNES: BRIGG TOWN AND BLACK BULL IN SUNDAY FOOTBALL ACTION


There were mixed fortunes for Brigg Sunday football teams yesterday (February 6).
Brigg Town's senior XI defeated Lord Nelson 4-1 at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) in Hull & District Veterans League Division Four.
On the mark against the visitors from Hull were Dave Betts, Dan Greaves (2) and Will Hartley.
Town have a three-point lead at the top of the table.
At nearby Brigg Rec yesterday, Black Bull lost 2-0 to Barnetby United in a Paul Fox Scunthorpe League Division Three local derby.
Following this win the Railwaymen are third in the rankings, while Black Bull - based at the Wrawby Street pub and sports bar, are next to bottom after nine league fixtures.
Fourth-placed Hibaldstow hosted Division Three leaders Winterton Rovers, losing 4-1.
Broughton WMC went down 3-2 in their home game against Black Beauty.
These sides occupy the bottom places in the top flight.
