BRIGG FUNFAIR FANS CAN TAKE A RIDE TO ENJOY THE RIDES

Brigg has not enjoyed a funfair for many years but they used to be held annually on Horse Fair Paddock, part of the Old Courts Road car park and the old lorry wash area where the Lidl store now stands.
However, the Independent Brigg Line Rail Group has now signalled that Dowse's Funfair will be operating on The Green in nearby Kirton Lindsey from Thursday to Sunday, July 22 to 25.
The campaigning group is hoping that Brigg people, and particularly families, will use the Saturday-only passenger train service on July 24, to get to and from our neighbouring town to enjoy all the fun of the fair.
The IBLRG has kindly provided train times and ticket information.

  • Depart Brigg station 11.47am (platform two).
  • Arrive Kirton in Lindsey 11.55am.
  • Depart Kirton station 4.48pm.
  • Arrive Brigg (platform one, nearest to Station Road) 4.56pm.
  • Adult return fare £5.70; child's return £2.85.

"if you have a North Lincolnshire bus pass with a train symbol on you are entitled to a child's return fare," the group informs Brigg Blog. Passengers can tender fares to the guard/conductor one they have boarded the train (cash or card).
This promises to be pleasant afternoon for parents, grandparents and children - combining train rides with what Dowse's says will be "fun for all the family."
The Green in on King Edward Street, which connects with Station Road via Spa Hill. Postcode DN21 4NQ.
