BRIGG ON TRACK IN THANKING THE NHS

All six scheduled passenger train services timetabled to call at Brigg station operated as planned on Saturday (October 3) following a couple of unfortunate cancellations the previous week caused by staffing issues.
The 1137 Sheffield Midland to Cleethorpes train and the 1511 Cleethorpes to Sheffield were worked by unit 158860 on October 3.
It has been repainted to celebrate the excellent work of the NHS during the present Covid situation.
Train operator Northern's 158860 is seen here passing through Brigg shortly before 4pm on Saturday.
With the autumn leaf-fall season now upon us, the Independent Brigg Line Rail Group informs Brigg Blog it has requested that Network Rail's railhead treatment train pays a visit to our local route "to give the rails a good scrub."
This will help to avoid wheelslip resulting from wet leaves collecting on the line.
Passenger trains will be calling at Brigg station again this Saturday (October 10).
The Brigg line's service was suspended from late March until September 19 when Northern revised its services during the virus emergency.
