HELPING ATTACT MORE VISITORS TO BRIGG

FROM PAUL JOHNSON, TRANSPORT CORRESPONDENT

Despite the fact that the Brigg Line Group has now dissolved, its volunteers are always happy to help the Brigg Town Business Partnership, headed by Deli Diner manager Coun Deb Dunderdale, who in the past went that extra mile to support the group when others failed miserably.
Because of their railway contacts, members have been delighted to pick up new Visit Brigg leaflets.

Sadly, due to a decline in support for promoting the Brigg line, the wording of the leaflet has now been changed so visitors mainly use TransPennine Express services and change at Barnetby to get to Brigg.

The new leaflets will be put in the tourist information boxes which are found at mainline stations - Doncaster, Sheffield Midland, Manchester Piccadilly, to name a few.

N.F. adds: Three Saturdays-only passenger trains run from Sheffield Midland station to Brigg, being operated by the Northern company; TransPennine Express runs trains between Sheffield and Cleethorpes (via Scunthorpe) seven days a week. These  stop at Barnetby where, on Saturdays, passengers can catch connecting trains to Brigg.
