D-DAY APPROACHING FOR BRIGG HOME IMPROVEMENT PLANS

A planning application seeking approval to add extensions to a unique property in Brigg is about to be considered by decision-making councillors.
The proposed scheme for Cemetery Lodge, 30 Wrawby Road, involves erecting a first-floor extension to the front and a two-storey extension with balcony to the rear, with associated external alterations.
North Lincolnshire Council's Planning Committee - made up of councillors from across the district - will consider this application at its next meeting, to be held online on Wednesday, March 24 (from 2pm).
Brigg Town Council has lodged an objection to the scheme, suggesting that the materials proposed are not in keeping with the existing building.
Options open to the committee next week are to grant permission, refuse the application or make a site visit to Cemetery Lodge and then decide the application during a later meeting.
A detailed planning officer's report, prepared for councillors ahead of next Wednesday's meeting, says: "The main issues in the determination of this application are the impact on the character and appearance of the building/street scene and upon residential amenity."
