Outline planning permission is being sought for 'mixed development' of 40 residential apartments, commercial market and enhancements to the new village green on land at Station Road, near the railway station (much of which is pictured above).

Brigg Town Council has made the following comments to North Lincolnshire Council planners:
- The Village Green status of Holland Park be protected.
- The developer should asked to encourage sustainability of the development by the provision of taxi & bus facilities, footpaths and rail links.
- Car parking at the site must be in accordance within the required standards.
- Early concerns were raised in respect of the possible height of the four-storey aspects of the dwelling blocks.
Network Rail says it has no objection in principle to the proposed scheme but stresses that the main access to the station "should be maintained and remain unobstructed."
Passenger trains only serve Brigg station on Saturdays, as most followers of this Blog will be aware.
Given the public interest in this major application, which has come from North Lincolnshire Council's own Estate Management Department, Brigg Blog expects the planning committee of elected councillors, drawn from across the district, to decide this application at one of its monthly meetings at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, rather than it being "delegated" to officers.
The vast majority of small-scale planning applications are delegated these days, which speeds up the decision-making process.
