Planning permission has been granted to change the use of a former florist shop in Brigg town centre into a drinking establishment.
North Lincolnshire Council heard the intention was to create a bar area and bottle shop, with seating available for customers.
This decision applies to the ground floor at 11a Market Place - adjoining the archway leading into Coney Court.
A North Lincolnshire Council delegated assessment report recommended the application should be approved, saying that, overall, the proposed change of use and alterations to the building would be sympathetic in terms of design and use of materials and would not harm the character and appearance of the listed building and the conservation area.
The Bottle Box Ltd submitted the application for these vacant retail premises.
A report submitted with the application explained the development proposed change of use from retail to a bar and bottle shop.
It stated: "The proposed use will include a bottle shop and small bar area to the front of the building with a small seating area of approximately 4 covers.
"The two rooms to the rear of the building will be for customer seating of approximately 24 covers.
"The wider section of passageway between the shop and seating area will have a narrow counter-type table with stool seating for 3 to 4 people.
"The WC to the rear of the building will be used by staff and customers and will be accessed via the existing internal passageway, which also leads to a final emergency escape door."
Among conditions attached to the planning permission is one stipulating that new fascia and hanging signs shall be constructed from timber.
Listed building consent has also been granted for 11a Market Place, following another application made by the The Bottle Box Ltd.
