Many Brigg Blog followers will have joined the Scunthorpe steel industry as trainees while teenagers after they left local schools in years past.
Now British Steel - current owner and operator of the works - says Manufacturing Trainee applications are open.
It tells youngsters: "As part of the programme you will receive comprehensive training both on and off the job to help you develop your leadership and personal skills through a formal training programme equivalent to Level 3/A Level.
"If you're ready to join our proud and passionate team, then apply now!"

The private companies that owned the Lysaght's, Appleby-Frodingham and Redbourn works before nationalisation in 1967 recruited many boys and girls from Brigg & district and that continued after the British Steel Corporation took charge, then through the ownerships of Corus and Tata.
Appleby-Frodingham funded a new laboratory at Brigg Grammar, from where it signed up many pupils for a range of production, administrative and technical roles.
A good many reached middle and higher management and a few went on to become directors.
Other schools in Brigg, including Glanford and Westmoor,  also provided pupils to fill many roles, particularly skilled craft posts like electricians and fitters.
So it's heartening to see that today's British Steel is continuing a long tradition by offering Brigg area youngsters the opportunity to apply for traineeships.
Don't delay if you are young Brigg Blog reader who is interested or you have a family member or neighbour who might be.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, October 15, 2017.
Salary: £19,000 (plus shift allowance where applicable).
