An extensive scheme which involves the Brigg area can power ahead now North Lincolnshire Council planners have raised no objections.
Northern Powergrid (Yorkshire) Ltd gave notice that it wished to replace 61 wooden poles supporting a 32kv electricity line between Wrawby, Hibaldstow and Kirton Lindsey.
This crosses the A1084 on Bigby High Road between Brigg Garden Centre (see pictures here) and the town boundary, and also passes Westrum Lane.
The application was made under the Overhead Lines (Exemption) (England & Wales) Regulations 2009.
The company intends to "refurbish the balance of poles."
There are currently 169 carrying the overhead line which connects with the Electricity Distribution Site on Kettleby Lane, Wrawby.
Beyond Hibaldstow, the line continues to a substation on North Cliff Road, Kirton.
Northern Powergrid describes the work between Wrawby and Hibaldstow as a partial rebuild, explaining that some of the wooden poles need replacing "due to their age and condition."
