BRIGG DENTIST HAS SPACES FOR CHILDREN'S CHECK-UPS OVER THE EASTER HOLIDAYS
Bupa Dental Care in Brigg (the former Oasis Dental Care), on Dudley Road, tells us it has spaces during the Easter Holidays to see children for check-ups under the NHS.
It takes all children 18 and under on the NHS and encourages all parents and guardians of children of this age group to ensure their children are attending the dentists every 3-6 months to keep their teeth are in tip-top condition and prevent more extensive work having to be done later in their lives.
Bupa told Brigg Blog: "Getting into the habit of bringing the children into the dentist during the school holidays is helpful as it will avoid the scramble for the 'after 4pm' appointments needed during term time. The practice is geared up for seeing children during the holidays, we try to have extra activities in the waiting room to keep your little cherubs amused while you are waiting.
"Children need to brush twice a day for 2 minutes using a good fluoride toothpaste and younger children need to be guided and overseen whilst brushing to ensure they are reaching all of the areas of the mouth. You can use Disclosing Tablets which stain the plaque on the teeth to show where they have missed with their cleaning (Plaqsearch). There are also apps for their phones which play two minutes of music, timed perfectly to motivate them to keep brushing for the correct amount of time - www.brushdj.com
"A good tip is to bring their toothbrush with you to the appointment; your child can demonstrate to the dentist their brushing technique and the dentist can then show the child any bits they are missing - or praise them highly if they have got it down to perfection!
"If you are interested in registering your child, or need to book your child in for an examination, please give Bupa Dental a call on 01652 652070."
Good Friday this year is on April 19.
