HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A BRIGG SKIP AS FULL AS THIS?
There have intermittent problems with fly-tipping and litter near Brigg railway station in recent years.
But nothing to match the mess seen here in a picture we think dates from the late 1980s.
There used to be a small skip site on Station Road, provided by the council for local folk to use. However, in this instance, someone had taking things to the extreme and dumped rubbish willy-nilly.
In the background is the last of Brigg's railway station buildings - the former station master's house, which did not have long to go before demolition.
Brigg Blog paid a recent visit to the station surrounds and saw one small pile of discarded rubbish; otherwise, the area was quite tidy. We might say surprisingly so.
This picture only came to light recently and reminded us of an unforgettable discovery we made at the town's Recreation Ground many years ago.
Dumped in a skip on the car park was the bodywork of a Reliant Robin, of the type driven by TV comedy duo Del Boy and Rodney on Only Fools and Horses.
The things people throw away! Definitely NOT a case of Lovely Jubbly or even Cushty...
