It's about the proposed Brigg Town Neighbourhood Plan, which is now being put together on behalf of the town
Neighbourhood planning allows communities to have a say on how things develop in the future in their area.
Examples include the location of housing, shops, offices and sports facilities.
This framework was put in place by the Localism Act 2011.
You may have received a leaflet through your letterbox this week about the consultation.
It will be held tomorrow (Thursday, November 17) in the Buttercross, between 10am and 2pm & 5pm to 8pm.
Brigg already has a Community-Led Plan in place.
However, the current Neighbourhood Plan takes things a stage further.
Local planning authorities - North Lincolnshire Council, in our case - have to consider the wishes of local people where applications relate to a Neighbourhood Plan.
Go along tomorrow and make YOUR views known to the group drawing up the plan.
Public views are all-important and although elected councillors are obviously involved in putting the plan together, they are working with members of our community who are not members of Brigg Town Council or the North Lincolnshire authority.
Choosing a Thursday (market day) for the consultation will help attendances as it's when many people venture into the town centre to do their shopping.
Make your views known about topics like:
- Traffic
- Housing
- Conservation
- The River Ancholme
- Recreation
- Public transport
