ART FOR ALL IN BRIGG & BROUGHTON

FLASHBACK: Work on display at an Ancholme Artists event in Brigg, held at St John's Church Hall.

Brigg has its own Ancholme Artists group, whose events we publicise from time to time, and  talented amateur performers with a brush have been prominent in the town for decades.
Neighbouring Broughton is also a hot-bed of artistic talent, and its Art for All Exhibition is rapidly approaching.
This is a prestigious event whose  aim is to give arts and crafts enthusiasts an opportunity to exhibit their work "no matter what their level of competence."
This has proved a winning formula and the event has been very well supported over the years, to the point that, although restricting the numbers of paintings per artist to three, they  have one of the biggest painting displays in the area.  Most of the work displayed is for sale.
This year's will be the 29th Broughton Art for All Exhibition; originally they were held every two years, the first being in 1979.
The venue is Broughton Village Hall on Saturday, May 23 (10.00am to 5.00pm) and Sunday, May 24 (10.00am to 5.00pm). There will be an official opening by the Town Mayor of  Broughton at 11.00am on the Saturday.
This should interest quite a few folk in Brigg and district. So make a note of the dates and pop along. If you want to know more, call 01652 652592.
