SPORTS CLUB APPLICATION IN BRIGG GETS THE GREEN LIGHT
A leisure and recreation development planned for a building in Brigg near the A18 has been given the go-ahead by North Lincolnshire Council.
Permission has been granted to change the use of empty retail premises at Cranidge House on Bridge Street. Only part of the building is involved.
An assessment report prepared by council staff on the application said: "Planning permission is sought to change the use of the first floor of an empty warehouse/showroom to a leisure and recreational use, namely a karate club.
"This is considered to be an appropriate use in this part of Brigg, which is mainly a commercial area, with some residential properties nearby.
"No external alterations are proposed at this stage, and the property currently has internal stair access to the upper floor."
Gary Wright, of Elm Way, Brigg, made the successful application, which was supported by Brigg Town Council.
