SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC INTEREST IN HOUSING APPLICATION SAYS BRIGG COUNCILLOR
A planning application considered to be of significant public interest by Brigg & Wolds councillor Rob Waltham, pictured above, is to be considered by the decision-makers at a meeting this week.
Coun Waltham, who is the Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, has requested that the application goes before the planning committee for a decision, rather than being delegated to officers as most are these days.
The committee's monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 9 - from 2pm - at Scunthorpe Civic Centre, off Ashby Road.
The application in question requests permission to erect a replacement dwelling with detached garage (including demolition of existing dwelling) at Park Lea, Barton Road, Wrawby.
A report prepared for councillors prior to the meeting says: "As a result of the rounds of consultation, at the time of writing, 24 letters of objection have been received from 8 properties."
The report adds: "The main issues for consideration with regard to the determination of this application are whether the proposed replacement dwelling is acceptable in terms of
its scale and appearance and whether it would harm the residential amenity of neighbouring properties."
Options open to the planning committee are to go along with an officer's recommendation to grant permission, refuse the application or hold a site visit and make a decision at a later date.
Wednesday's meeting is open to interested members of the public.
