WHY BRIGG MILLENNIUM GREEN HASN'T HAD THE GRASS CUT

Following on from yesterday's post about Brigg Millennium Green, off Elwes Street, we can bring you the  latest position. A machinery fault is the reason for the delay in cutting back the grass.
Coun Rob Waltham, Deputy Leader of North Lincolnshire Council and chairman of Brigg Town Council's Property & Services Committee, updated his colleague's at last night's meeting in the Angel Suite. An ignition fault is the precise cause.
It also appears there have been "some complications" in the negotiations to transfer ownership/management rights for the Green, which began life under the protection of a trust. 
Ken Harrison, of Brigg, posted an interesting comment on yesterday's story, wondering whether the Green could be left alone to become a haven for wild flowers and insects.
Brigg Blog wonders whether a half-way compromise might be the way forward: Cut the grass near the mound so people can access the seating and leave half the Green to Mother Nature. Less grass being cut, you'd think, would lower the cutting costs.
