North Lincolnshire Council has provided a helpful email address which people in Brigg & district can use to nominate locations where they think new trees should be planted.
Brigg Blog recently posted about future tree planting, suggesting (among others) the Recreation Ground, as this is the sporting facility's 70th anniversary year.
A spokesperson for the local authority has now informed us: "Anyone with suggestions of areas where trees can be planted, or who wants advice on planting anything from a single tree to a whole woodland, needs to contact andrew.taylor@northlincs.gov.uk - our Natural Environment Policy Specialist.
"He is co-ordinating and overseeing all our current Northern Forest plantings and will advise on planting sites, surveys, grants, etc.
"TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) have planted a lot of our trees and are always on the lookout for volunteers. They have a newly set up local Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1287203391715542
"And don't forget once people have planted their trees to register them on our tree counter https://www.northlincs.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/trees-and-hedges/ so we can get to 172,000 trees - one for every person in North Lincolnshire."
