Many people attended the Christmas 2021 Brigg Farmers' Market held yesterday (Saturday, December 18).
But the turn-out was not as sizeable as we expected to see mid-morning, especially as Friday's cold conditions (slippery underfoot in places) had given way to mild conditions for this time of year with the temperature well above freezing... and no rain.
The main Old Courts Road car park was pretty full and town centre businesses of all kinds were gaining from the footfall as the festive season drew near and shoppers looked to buy the last of their presents or stock up on essentials or a few luxuries for Christmas.
As ever there was a wide range of produce available on the once-a-month farmers' market stalls and also those forming the weekly Saturday general market, plus some vans and trailers.
Many previous December markets have seen musicians performing to add to the festive atmosphere, but the Market Place's Bandstand was unoccupied yesterday morning.
