Brigg welcomed back a number eateries from lockdown yesterday (Saturday, July 4).
Among those taking advantage of the government lifting restrictions on sit-down restaurants and cafes were the Mumbai Lounge (pictured above), Bengal Spice, Steel Rooms, Loft and Cafe Courtyard.
Pips Kitchen - at Brigg Town Football Club - also returned yesterday and reported good trade, while Brigg Garden Centre's Restaurant welcomed back customers yesterday and will be offering lunch-time carvery meals today (Sunday) from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
Table service had been ruled out since late March during the Coronavirus emergency.
Yesterday morning we called at Clayton's Corner - the cafe in Howsham - which was also visited by other folk from Brigg.
Due to the internal layout, Saturday customers were not being admitted inside these premises. Instead, they were buying drinks and snacks from a serving area at the entrance to consume at a range of tables nearby - all suitably distanced. Many people came by car and cycle to enjoy refreshments.
There were many cyclists out and about on the A1084 and others on the road between Brigg, Cadney and Howsham, plus some joggers in the villages and on less busy streets in Brigg.
Conditions were not too hot to make running and riding uncomfortable yesterday, and the short showers must have helped keep them cool.
