Cash grants continue to be given to community groups in Brigg by the Town Council during the current financial year.
And when the new one begins in April there will be thousands more set aside in the budget to meet further requests over the following 12 months.
Coun Rob Waltham told Brigg Town Council's annual budget-setting session in the Angel Suite Lounge that there had been a good uptake throughout the current financial year, and it was important to have funds available for the 2020/21 period.
Prior to the meeting Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall and Deputy Mayor Coun Brian Parker presented a £400 cheque to The Rotary Club of Brigg and £200 to Brigg Town Business Partnership to benefit the community - grants having been agreed by councillors late last year.
The Rotary Club's cheque (above) was received by Chris Darlington (Freeman of Brigg) and David Wood, while Deb Dunderdale collected the Partnership's (below).
Both groups expressed their gratitude and the Rotarians presented a framed certificate of appreciation to the council.
Midway through the meeting, a further £410 grant was approved to help with the cost of staging pop-up exhibitions at Brigg Heritage Centre.
Brigg Angels Women's Institute (WI) sent the Town Council an illustrated thank-you card following a £342 grant given to help with the cost of staging a Christmas Community Meal in the Angel Suite which was enjoyed by 90 people.
Grant applications can be made in writing to the Town Council at any time but must indicate why the money is required and be accompanied by a current statement of accounts/balance sheet.
