BIG BOOST FOR CHARITY FROM RETIRING BRIGG MAYOR
Brigg Town Mayors can choose a charity, or charities, to support and then undertake fundraising throughout their year in office.
Brigg Town Mayor for 2018/2019, Coun Donald Campbell, raised an impressive £3704.57 for Pancreatic Cancer Action through his appeal fund.
He presented a cheque during his final function in the Angel Suite on Monday, May 11 - the night of Brigg Town Council's annual meeting.
This was received on behalf of the charity by Zoe Hall and Andrew Markham, from its local support group (see picture above).
Donald and his wife Tina, the Mayoress for 2018/19, did not seek re-election to Brigg Town Council in the poll held on May 2.
At the AGM, Donald said he had enjoyed being Mayor and thanked his wife for her support, plus colleagues and council staff and the Chaplain, Father Owain Mitchell, and The Rev Trudy Hobson.
