Veteran Craig Benson scored for Briggensians Football Club when drew 1-1 away to New Holland Villa in the first round of the EC Surfacing Ltd Challenge Cup on Saturday (September 15). But the Brigg team lost 4-2 on penalties.
Hibaldstow Wanderers went down 9-3 away to The Butchers Arms in the same competition, which is sponsored by a Brigg company.
Adam Webb (2) and Daniel Harding netted for Hibaldstow.
In division two, Barnetby United Reserves won 6-1 at home to Scotter United Reserves.
Five of the Barnetby goals came from Kyle Sylvester, with Ross Hempstock the other scorer.
