The Launch Ride organised by Ride Social went from Brigg through Cadney, Howsham, Owmby and then back to town.
These pictures were taken on the County Bridge during a warm-up run prior to the event.
In the Market Place from 10.30am, people were able to challenge family members and friends to a time trial on a static bike, see the North Lincs Tour support vehicle and meet the Tour of Britain mascot.
Madison Genesis rider, Connor Swift, was also present. The Doncaster-born rider is hoping to compete in the Tour of Britain this year for the first time.
Coun Rob Waltham, of Brigg, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We’re so excited for communities across our area to get behind the Tour of Britain and want to see decorated bicycles, bunting, banners and street parties popping up to celebrate it coming to North Lincolnshire.
“The North Lincolnshire stage will cover over 112 miles of our small but beautiful county. This makes it perfect for spectators as they will have the chance to see the riders in multiple locations along the route.
“North Lincolnshire is becoming increasingly known for outdoor activities, particularly cycling, and hosting the Tour of Britain this year will help to inspire and engage the next generation of cyclists in our area.”
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is British Cycling’s premier road cycling event, giving cycling fans the opportunity to see the world’s best teams and riders competing on their door step, taking place between Sunday 3 and Sunday 10 September, the North Lincolnshire section being on the 5th.

This was an excellent opportunity to promote a major event later in the year.
But, in the role of the Devil's Advocate....it reflects the confusion about traffic/cycling in the Market Place.
We have the excellent Car Rally assembling in Brigg within the during the next fortnight....and the massive magnet of Bike Night.....but we have the dilemma of daily reports of traffis using the pedestrian zone.
There, and I'm still in the DA role, seems to be conflicting messages; there has to be clear, transparent guidelines of when 'traffic' in the form of car rallies, versus vehicles trundling thro' the Market Place/Wrawby Rd. is acceptable/not acceptable. We should not have situation were officialdom is 'condoning' vehicle events, while there appears to be a 'free-for-all', un-enforced practice of anything from cars to HGV's meandering thro' the town centre.
