BRIGG GETS NEW TOWN MAYOR AND DEPUTY

Brigg Town Council's annual meeting, held in the Angel Suite on Monday evening, saw a new Town Mayor and Deputy elected to serve for the next 12 months.
Coun Sharon Riggall is the new Town Mayor, with Coun Donald Campbell voted in as Deputy Mayor.
Coun Riggall, who has just completed a year as deputy first citizen, received her chain of office from retiring Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley.
In her acceptance speech, Coun Riggall said she was incredibly proud and honoured to be the Town Mayor.
She described Brigg as a vibrant town with much to offer local people and visitors.
Her Appeal Fund will be raising funds for the Brigg & District Breast Cancer Support Group and for youth organisations.
"I promised to do my very best," the new Mayor told fellow councillors after her election.
The new Town Mayor will be supported during her term of office by husband Martin.
Coun Donald Campbell will be supported by his wife, Coun Tina Campbell, during his 12 months as Deputy Town Mayor.
Among the first people to congratulate the new Town Mayor was her brother, Rob Waltham, the leader of North Lincolnshire Council in addition to being a town councillor.
Coun Riggall told the meeting that their late father, Wally - a wonderful, inspirational man - had said it was possible to achieve anything you set your mind to.
Coun Mike Campion proposed Coun Donald Campbell to Deputy Town Mayor.
He said Coun Campbell had served the council well during his years as a member, particularly on planning-related matters.
