WE STILL MISS THIS BRIGG PUB

Many, many happy Saturday nights were enjoyed at a Brigg pub which is sadly no longer with us.
We are talking about the Queen's Arms, on Wrawby Street - just a few doors down from the Britannia Inn, which is still going strong.
A Victorian hostelry, the Queen's was a renowned meeting place for sportsmen and women and lots of folk with no real sporting interests.
On Saturday night the players' hockey, football or cricket bags - depending on the season - were piled high near the sliding door which gave access to the bar.
Later tonight we'll be walking past the former Queen's Arms building - latterly a restaurant - and will be remembering some very happy times when Jean Cunningham and then Bob and Sue Nicholson were mine hosts..
