Two Brigg gardens have been rated among the best in North Lincolnshire.
The winners of the North Lincolnshire Best Kept Garden Awards 2016 were announced during a ceremony at Normanby Hall earlier this week.
The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Coun Trevor Foster, presented awards to the 17  winners and runners-up.
The North Lincolnshire Best Kept Garden Awards celebrate the hard work and dedication of our area’s gardeners and have been running every year since 1983, but have a history that dates back to before the Second World War.
The Mayor said: “I was lucky enough to visit a number of the gardens entered into this year’s competition and the beautiful and innovative gardens that we’ve seen is truly outstanding.
“I hope others feel inspired by these fantastic gardens. I would encourage everyone to get out into your own garden and flex your green thumbs. Who knows, maybe next year your garden could be crowned one of the best kept in North Lincolnshire!
“The standard of this year’s entries was phenomenal and it was a very tough deliberation process to decide the winners. All our gardeners should be very proud of themselves and I hope that they will continue to pursue their passion and enter their garden into the competition again next year.”
The winner from each category received a £100 voucher for Brigg Garden Centre, with the runner-up receiving a £50 voucher and third place winning one for £25.
