DRUMMING UP PASSENGERS ON THE BRIGG LINE

Well done Travel South Yorkshire today for alerting its followers on Twitter to the fact that passenger trains are running from Sheffield along the Brigg Line, as an alternative to the "usual" service via Scunthorpe.
Travel SYorks said: "Travelling Sheffield-Cleethorpes today? 2 routes, the S/O route via Gainsbro Cntr and Brigg, and the usual one via Scunthorpe. Enjoy."
We wonder whether the cost is the same for both routes?
UPDATE 10am: Rail campaigner Paul Johnson reports: "Excellent turn out of ramblers heading to Brigg today." There's a special walk organised in our area today, previewed on Brigg Blog.
Pictured above, from our archive, a busy scene at Brigg station as a Saturday train from Sheffield arrives and picks up passengers for Cleethorpes. Brigg only receives passenger trains one day a week.
