GRAMMAR SCHOOL ROAD IN BRIGG GETS MAKEOVER

PICTURE AND REPORT BY KEN HARRISON

This picture shows Grammar School Road, Brigg, getting a makeover.and amazingly, not a school bus in sight!
Road re-surfacing work is seen being undertaken by Colas contractors.
The process involved initially laying a base, followed by a bitumen and gravel surface cover - they are cold, quick drying compounds, a method called micro bitumen processes - road treatment that involves a slurry of cement, bitumen, stone and water that allows traffic flows to use the road within a couple of minutes of resurfacing a road - a good job too, since Grammar School Road was its usual dynamic state after The Vale finished for the day.
NF ADDS: Ken tells us the work was due for completion yesterday, Friday.
Expect to see more Brigg roads being treated in the coming weeks. We note on the St Helen's Road housing estate that yellow paint has been put down to indicate where roads need resfuracing. Whether contractors or the council's own staff will be doing the work we'll have to wait and see.
