BRIGG CRICKETERS IN SECOND SPOT

Brigg Town Cricket Club won well yesterday (Saturday, May 14) and occupy second spot in division four of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League, having taken 48 points from four fixtures.
If it stays like this until mid-September, the local lads will be eligible for promotion.
Yesterday, Brigg journeyed down the A18 to take on Keelby 2nds.
Batting first, they were bowled out for 119, Harry Cadwallader hitting 43 and Nick Beacock 19.
After tea, Paul Neal was in top form with the ball for Brigg, grabbing five for 19 as the villagers were dismissed for 79 to give Town a maximum haul of 20 points.
Skipper and wicketkeeper Mark Dawson held two catches and pulled off a stumping.
Next Saturday (May 21) there's a home game against Louth 3rds at Brocklesby Park, where Brigg are playing their home fixtures while our own Recreation Ground is being refurbished.
This game starts at 1.30pm if you fancy paying a spectating visit to the picturesque venue on the Earl of Yarborough's estate.
